Viking Solutions Wall Mount Fishing Rod Rack

Need a safe place to put your fishing poles in between fishing trips? With this rack, you can store them on your garage wall during the off-season or showcase them in your rec room to show them off. During storage, your rods stay dry from the rain and stay safe from getting stepped on or otherwise damaged. And when they're up and out of the way, you'll have more floor space for storing a lawn mower, bikes, tools, and other equipment.

Adjusting the Height of the Rack

Viking Solutions Wall Mount Fishing Rod Rack Adjustable Height

This fishing rod rack works great even if you have many different sized rods and reels. The rack has a 2-piece design, so you can adjust the overall height to accommodate large saltwater rods, smaller rods for kids, and everything in between. First you need to bolt the base onto the wall with the included wall anchors and mounting hardware, making sure it's completely level. It might be a good idea to install the base a little higher from the ground, especially if you are planning on storing tackle and other gear underneath. Then use the length of your fishing rods to measure how high up you would need to mount the top plate.

Directs Water Off the Sides of the Angled Base

Viking Solutions Wall Mount Fishing Rod Rack

Unlike racks with a flat base, you can spray the angled base of this rack down, and water will run off the sides so it won't pool and rust the white powder coat finish. This is especially important if you have a lot of saltwater fishing rods. And because of the high-density polyethylene padding at the top, the rack won't scratch your prized rods.

What's going on everybody Adam here with of here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Viking Solution Fishing Rod Rack. As you may know, storing your rods are extremely difficult in a garage. Half the time you just have to find a corner and just pile 'em all in. I don't really like the look of that and they start to get tangled and stuff, and sometimes they even fall on the ground. With this, it gives a nice organized space to hold 11 rods.

So it's nice and neat. So it looks good. And it's also gonna protect them from getting scratched up or falling on the ground. As far as measurements go, the overall length is gonna be about 31 inches and it's gonna be about 4 1/2 inches tall. And it's gonna stick out from the wall about 4 1/4 inches.

And that's just the bottom bracket, but let's move up to the top bracket, and get some measurements up there. This one's going to stick out about 3 1/2 inches. It's gonna be about, 30 inches in length and it's not too tall. So with the little bent bracket, it's only gonna be about 3/4 of an inch. And this can be adjustable depending on what kind of rods you plan on storing away.

Whether it's the saltwater fishing rods, we'll probably go a little bit taller; but if you have a mix between kiddos rods and the rods we see here, you can make it kind of like how we have it here. This is what I liked, just because it'll fit pretty much every single fishing rod that I'll throw at it. This will hold 11 rods and they are gonna be about 2 and 3/4 inches apart. So you might have to rotate some of your reels just to make sure that they're all going to sit in there properly. So this will hold 11 rods, like I said before, but if you have some heavier ones it is gonna have a weight capacity of 50 pounds.

I really don't think we're gonna go over that. But for some of those larger rigs you may have, just make sure you don't go over that weight capacity. If you're really looking for something that isn't just a hard mount like this, it's gonna stay on the wall whenever you install it. I like the Viking Solution Truck Bed Rack. This one is gonna stay on the wall, but the truck bed rack it can go in the bed of your truck, in the side-by-side that you're maybe using to go to the river or the lake. But also it can go on the wall as well. It'll just hang on there. I do have a video of that and you should definitely check that out. 'Cause I've dealt with that one and this one. I personally would get that one just because it's the best of both worlds. It'll go on the wall, but it'll also go and go in the back of your truck or your side-by-side. I like that just because you also have to transport 'em. And sometimes that gets a little messy too. But if you are looking for a rod holder that's just gonna stay to the wall and it's just gonna stay in your garage. This one is going to do the job right. We went ahead and installed it. Didn't take a whole lot of time. So let's go over that installation process with you now. First things first, let's get an idea of where we want them. So I don't want it to be completely on the ground. 'Cause I wouldn't mind maybe having a little storage spot for my tackle gear. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna have it a little bit taller, so it's a little off the ground. We're gonna start with is this bracket. And basically all you wanna do is just get it up against your wall, make sure it's nice and even. You might wanna get a little level out; but then what I like to do is mark my spot. So on every single hole, go ahead and mark that up. Just like that. Once you do this, you can go ahead and take this off. Just like that. And there are some drywall anchors that come with the kit, with some screws and such. We're not gonna be using these today just because we don't want to ruin these. But we're gonna use some other ones we found in the shop. You can use whatever you want, but they are included. So you don't have to use your own stuff. It comes with the kit. So you can go ahead and grab the right-size Drill Bit to start drilling into these, so we can get those anchors in place. Now we can take the anchors and plop them into place, just like that. Perfect. Now we can take our hardware with a Phillips Bit and run 'em into place. We can do that for the rest of them. So now what we want to do is take this bracket; we have two holes, and we're gonna line them up with these two holes here. We're gonna take a little short machine screw right here. And then we're going to, on the other side, put a little washer and then our nylon lock nut right here. It all comes with the kit. So you don't have to worry about it. So go ahead and line it up, put it in and tighten it down. I'm using a eight millimeter socket and a Phillips Bit. You don't have to use a power tool, I already had it on here for the screws to mount this plate. So I'm just gonna use that. We can do that same exact thing for the other side. Before we install our top bracket you kind of wanna get an idea of what kind of rods you're working with. So I want them to connect in between the loop at the very bottom and the second loop. So this will work for my rod but also for the kiddos rods as well. So I'm gonna go ahead and get an idea like that, put the rod to the side and do the same exact installation process as the bracket down low, make sure it's nice and level. Make sure it is even with the bracket down low. And then we're gonna do the same exact thing with the drywall anchors here. Now we can pick our last piece. And we can line it up with our holes here. We have holes here and we have holes on our bracket. So we'll line this up and we're gonna take our small little machine screw, go through that. And again, with the washer and nut and tighten it down. So now we're done. We can go ahead and take our rods, put them up here, just like that. And this is gonna be able to fit up to 11 rods, which is pretty cool. I have about five for me. So if you are a family of some sort it's gonna be plenty to get everybody's rods up and secured down. And you probably will have to rotate them a little bit, depending on the reel size just to get the little part of the reel kind of up and away. But as you can see, they sit right into place, and that is so much more cleaner than just stacking them in the side. I usually do that in my garage, but they get tangled a lot, and it's just not really a good look. So this looks better and it's gonna keep my rods nice and safe and organized. And that'll do it for a look at the Viking Solution Fishing Rod Rack..

Got this for my father as a gift. He uses it in the rod locker on the dock. He fishes almost daily. Helps keep everything a little more organized.
